The Time Just Flies

Well it's been a while since my last update, and it sure doesn't really seem like it has been as long as it has. The time just seems to be going so quickly. It only seems like yesterday the summer had started and I thought it was going to be so long before school started back up. Now it's only a week before I move into my apartment, two before RA training begins and a month and school is back in full swing.

Anyways last week I volunteered at the Indianapolis Tennis Tournament. This is my third year doing it and as usual it was a blast. It's nice now as well, because I've become a regular person so a lot of the group knows me now. Makes it better than in previous years when I didn't really know anyone to well. I even recognized some of the umpires and line judges from the year before and got to joke around with some of them. Me and the Egyptian chair umpire even pounded it...which was awkward but cool at the same time. The other awesome part about being there is getting to be really close to the players. I got to talk to Robby Ginepri, and John Isner. Was even super close to Andy Roddick's old coach when I was monitoring one of the matches. Overall that was pretty much my week as I went to class and then spent my time from 6 - 11:30 there each night.

Saturday I woke up early and drove over to Laurel Hall to meet up with the consultants. We drove up to Chicago to do a retreat with IL Delta (University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign). It was a lot of fun. They brought a small group of their officers up and we went over some basics. Talked about a mission statement and then got them to set a few goals and just start thinking about what they need to do in order to be successful for the upcoming year. They had some interesting things that definitely caught my attention, but as long as they can get them to work, then I'll support them. They hadn't used committees for almost 30 years I think they said and are trying to get them working now so that'll take some hard work. They also have two vice presidents (external and internal) which was something new to me. I'm really excited to start working with some of the chapters though. Not necessarily doing any of their work for them, but making sure they are getting to the goals they are setting for themselves and helping them reach them in any way I can.

Sunday was pretty nice as well. I went to the finals of the Tennis Tournament with Ronnie, Kyle, and Alex. It was pretty awesome. I wanted to the AUS doubles team to win and thy didn't, but it was still a really awesome match to watch. Professonal doubles is so awesome and I don't think it gets the hype it should, because all the big name players mainly focus on their singles career. The singles match was pretty awesome. It was an All-American final. Sam Querry vs. Robby Ginepri. Querry kind of gave up on the first set, but gave Ginepri a run for his money on the second. Ginepri still won though 6-2, 6-4. I was pretty excited and he's still the only unseeded player that has won the championship.

Yesterday was pretty boring. I woke up went to class and then didn't do a ton after that. I cleaned up my side of the room and started packing a few things so I can be ready to move into my apartment this weekend. And then today so far all that has happened was I took my Physics test. Which I'm pretty sure I rocked! For some reason this semester has just seemed so much easier. Areef yells at me because Brady and I don't study as much as he says we need to, but it's all good. We are still doing pretty awesome. :)

Ok well that's it for now. Enjoy!
