Saying Goodbye

Well the weekend has been a blast. Friday night was pretty relaxing. Just hung out at the house with the guys and played some games for most of the night.

Saturday was the best day of the weekend. Ron Ransom had his going away party as he is now heading to Ohio University to pursue his master's degree. Also got to hang out with my parents before that since we went out and had lunch. We went to Union Jack's which is a pub up the street in Broadripple. Had a really good time hanging out with them. It's always nice to be able to catch back up with them.

After lunch the guys and I went over to Katie's house, which is where Ron lives, and celebrated with him. Pretty good group showed up. Most of the house came, some of his friends from Butler, and some Headquarter staff were there as well. Was a good day filled with some cornhole, grilling on the "baby" grill, and just general socializing. One of the best parts was when some of the guys started playing beer pong there weren't any ping pong balls, so they decided to use bottlecaps instead. Ryan and Joe were surprisingly good with them. Ended up going home to change into jeans because I couldn't stand the bugs anymore, then went back. Hung out with Ron and all the guys some more and finally dropped Ron, Jason, and Tyler off at the bars before heading home to go to bed.

All in all though I'm sad that Ron is leaving. He was the person who worked with our colony and made sure we were on the right track to become a chapter. If it wasn't for him I don't know if we'd really have a chaptere at IUPUI now. But I'm sure glad he had faith in us and I'm glad that we are where we are now. He will truly be missed...

Relaxation

So the past couple days have been pretty awesome. Physics 201 ended on Wednesday after I took the final so that was a huge relief. Since then I've basically done nothing but sometimes that is one of the best feelings there is. I did check online today though to see my grade in physics. Was very excited to see that I got a B! Not to shabby for missing a whole week of class if I do say so myself.

Last night I went to a networking event for the Indianapolis Alumni Association of Phi Kappa Psi. Was very successful. For a first time event there were probably about 40 or so people that showed up throughout the night. Met some cool people and a few in the law line of work so that was nice. Afterwards the brothers and I went to dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings. Always an enjoyable time.

For now that's about it.

New Beginnings

So I decided to steal this idea from my roommate Joe. He started a blog so his family and friends could know what's going on in his life and I thought it sounded cool, so I decided to start this one. I'll try to update it as often as I can remember to do so.

Well I just got back from almost a full week in Buffalo, NY. The city itself isn't really a lot of fun and I'm definitely glad to be back in Indy. I was there for a Phi Kappa Psi conference known as Woodrow Wilson Leadership School. I was a small group leader which was pretty fun. Got to meet a lot of knew brothers from all over the nation and such. It was also nice because I got to hang out with some people that I just haven't had a chance to hang out with since we are all from different states.

The big thing that happened for me while I was there, was that I was elected as the District III Archon for Phi Kappa Psi. Basically this position is the voice for all of Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, and a bit of Ohio to the national executive council for the fraternity. I'll hold the position for the next two years and am now going to get a chance to travel all over my district. After I got elected I got to sit at the head table for the banquet and all that jazz. It was kind of strange, but it's set in now and I can't wait to get to work on the position.

Now that I'm back I had to catch up on the entire week of class that I missed. Good news though, after tomorrow it's over. My final test is tomorrow and then I get a few days to just relax before summer session 2 starts.

Well that's the big updates for now.
