Well, hm...it's been a week since my last update. It's now September and that means fall is right around the corner. Fall is by far my favorite season. Love the weather that's around during this time of the year and when the trees start changing it's prolly the best thing ever.
Phi Psi has started back up! I definitely missed seeing a lot of the brothers over the summer so it's great to have everyone back together again. We had a great recruitment workshop put on by Spencer. It was a really good one that made the group refocus on our values and how our members values align with those. Then it was off to the actual meeting which wasn't too bad either. I told the brothers about the trip to NIU I'll be making this upcoming weekend. Have had a couple guys tell me that they want to come so that's good news. It should be a pretty exciting weekend though. Will be heading to NIU for their ribbon cutting ceremony for their new house. After that I'll be going to my first ever college football game.
Classes are going pretty well so far. Spanish class is awesome. I'm surprised how much I'm actually remembering from almost three years ago, so that's really nice. I started doing some of our online homework this weekend and it's going pretty well. My two chemistry classes aren't too bad either. Forensic chemistry lecture is kind of boring right now just because of the fact that it's mostly review right now. Lab however seems like it should be pretty cool. I like how we don't have much of a standard for what we have to write in our lab books, which is awesome. In lab the other day we did a "crime scene investigation" as well as "collecting evidence" and comparing similar items. Instrumental lab on the otherhand seems like it's going to be just a big pain in the ass. The electronic lab that we had to do took forever. (Two three hour lab periods) The lecture isn't much better. Not exactly sure what I'm learning in there. This upcoming week though, I'll be starting my Leadership class, which I think is going to be a lot of fun. Tina is my teacher so that shouldn't be bad at all.
Senate started on Friday. I think it went OK for the first meeting. We had about seven senators that didn't show up which is still kind of sad. But an exciting thing was that we had students come who weren't senators at all! Tina said she thinks that is one of the first times she's really seen that happen. Means we did a good job this year at trying to advertise to the general student body through our resource fairs and the involvement expo.
This weekend has been pretty relaxing so far. Went to an Indian's game last night. Props to SAPB! They've been doing some awesome programs for WOW and they are going really well. All 300 tickets sold out for the Indian's game and Jillian's got a lot of students to come out as well. And as for the title of this blog...I really just made it this because I rearranged my room today. It was all I could think of for a catch title. :) I think tonight I'm going to go on a bike ride downtown and take some pictures of Indy at night. So perhaps I'll have some of those to put up on my other blog sometime soon.
Well, I think that's all for now!
